Weekly Update 1920 March 2022 (by admin) |
Dear parents and carers
I hope you have been able to enjoy the glorious weather over the weekend and are looking forward to the week ahead!
I wanted to start by saying a massive thank you to all of our parent volunteers. Many parents help us each week by hearing children read, supporting the teachers with admin tasks and also a special thanks to Mr Durrant who has recently started to help alongside the Site Managers. This makes such a difference in the school and we really do appreciate it.
We are in the process of planning for the Spring Carnival which will take place on the Friday the 8th April. This will be an outdoor performance and we wanted to create three performance areas in the playgrounds. If anyone has access to set design or a sound system we could use, this would be really appreciated. Please do email the office admin@fairfields.hants.sch.uk.
We will also be displaying the art competition entries. So far we have only received two entries. The winning designs will be printed onto canvases and displayed around the school. Entries are due in on the 1st April and both children and adults can take part.
Comic Relief Talent Show
Friday was Comic Relief Day and the children had a wonderful time either watching or taking part in the Talent Show. Well done to all of the performers who were so confident and entertaining. We filmed both of the Talent Shows but unfortunately only the Foundation Stage, Year 1 and 2 show is currently available. All videos of performances will now be put into a secure area on our website. You will find these videos including the musical performances from last year under the pupil tab, “Performance Videos”.
You will need your parent passcode to access this which is:

Password: 73886
Please do not share this with anyone outside of the school community.
The winners from the Talent Show were:
1st Place
Gargi in Year 1 with a wonderful dance.
Zac, Tee-Jay, Darsh, Marcel, Moussa and Dylan in Year 6 with a performance by Rick Ashley
2nd Place
Jay, Bruce, Alex and Ibrahim in Year 2 with a fantastic demonstration of football skills.
Ishwari in Year 4 with a beautiful dance.
3rd Place
Zoe in Year 2 with an invigorating dance, full of expression.
Tessy in Year 5 with impressive keyboard playing.
Children arriving late in the morning
Currently, we have approximately 30 pupils arriving late to school each day in the morning. This means that the staff in the office have to register the children and are unable to attend to parent queries or answer the telephone. We will be writing to the parents of children who are regularly late to offer support and to see if there are any underlying reasons why this is happening so often.
COVID Update
